Mr. Liu is president of Legend Holdings Ltd., non-executive director of Lenovo Group, and chairman of Raycom Real Estate Co. and Hony Capital. Mr. Liu is a member on the Investment Committee of Legend Capital.

In 1984, with initial capital of RMB200,000 (less than 25,000 US dollars then), funded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), Mr. Liu, together with 10 other staff members of the Institute of Computing Technology of CAS, established the New Technology Developer Inc. (the predecessor of Lenovo Group of which he had served as president and Board Chairman until 2005).

Mr. Liu graduated from Xidian University (formerly Xi’an Military Institute of Telecommunications and Engineering). He is a senior engineer.

Mr. Liu is also Vice Chairman of All China Federation of Industry and Commerce, a delegate to the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and a deputy to the 9th and 10th National People’s Congress.

He was awarded “National Model Worker”, “Man of Reform in China”, “Asian Businessman”, “Global 25 Most Influential Business Leaders”, etc.
