Mr. Li joined Legend Capital in 2001 as Vice President and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Executive Director and now Managing Director. He oversees the investment opportunities around Shanghai area and sectors like outsourcing services.

Prior to Legend Capital, he was the new business development manager at the then Legend Group’s Business Development Dept from 1998 to 2000. He served as business development consultant for Saint-Gobain Group (Paris) from 2000 to 2001.

Richard has rich experience in and an in-dept understanding of the Telecom industry where he enjoys extensive networks and resources. He has good knowledge of various business models and information technology industry.

Richard sits on the Boards of 7234 Communications, Pharmaron and SpeedNet, and is responsible for investments in CDIM, Photonic Bridges (acquired by Siemens), Taner International, etc.

Richard holds a dual B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Economics& Management and a master’s degree in Management Engineering from Tshinghua University, and an MBA from College Des Ingenieurs (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées).
